the birth of a Son – Is.9:6

 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Let us step back just a short distance from a Christmas Card concept to look again at this Son of God… a baby born in a stable it is true, but the names in this Scripture capture who He is called to grow up to be.  Government is on His shoulders… He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and… Prince of Peace.  This baby born in a stable was to be King.  So this Child is born and the Son is given.

Prayer:  With humble hearts we acknowledge the purposes of God who sent His Son to be born of a woman, made like us, so we could be part of the great plan and love of God.
