basically talking to myself...but maybe you can relate?

A paraphrase on 1 Corinthians 13: (borrowed from this blogger)

1 If I have a sparkling clean and organised home, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I educate my children with excellence, and if I serve my husband faithfully, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3 If I reach my goals of a physically fit body and keep a perfect budget,
but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. So, you've started off the year with all kinds of wonderful hopes and plans. I'm sure all of your resolutions are good and well-meaning. But, be careful and guard yourself that none of these things becomes more important than to love the Lord and your family. Then they will be rubbish, worth nothing.

Search your heart. What are you doing that is "good" but is causing you to be impatient, unkind, rude, arrogant, self-serving...
